An amateur photographer plays with Aperture

Apple’s Aperture was certainly designed for the professional photographer. Does that mean talented, eager amateurs can’t benefit from using it? Of course not. Using his great educational discount ($249 vs. $499), Tom Bridge at O’Reilly bought himself a copy and really liked what he found. TUAW
Here’s another review but this time from someone I can understand… eg. an amateur photographer like me.

Aperture is very nice. I only got it last week and I’m already impressed by its fluidity and speed. It offers a ton of advanced options in a real easy and simple interface. I won’t ever need to import pictures with iphoto, and I only ever use Photoshop for montage because Aperture does the job really well. Well done Apple.

Good for you! Maybe one day I can get to play and use Aperture the way it’s meant to be used.
