…just like almost all my other gear, I want it to be different. Not necessarily prettier, just different, because it’s mine. So like it or loathe it, this was the general idea: paint it black geek technique

The final product looks pretty sweet. I’m not a big Rainbow Apple fan, but I’m new to the game so I guess I just don’t have the memories that some people have.

I’ve been drooling over the Black rear cover on cnn.cn for a while… and this DIY approach is certainly a lot cheaper, but I just can’t validate completely obliterating my warranty right now.

I do love the matte black finish though.
