Compare Lightroom vs. Aperture
Thursday, May 24th, 2007
I’ve switched back to iPhoto a few days ago (I’m a hobby photographer, and proud of it), but here’s a Lightroom vs. Aperture comparison for those of you who can’t decide yet.
After a long week of comparing Lightroom and Aperture, things are starting to heat up, including my MacBook Pro. Woohoo, I’m just waiting for it to ignite into flames after putting these two applications to the test. I’ve been working with each program and am ready to give my opinions on the topics I listed in my first Lightroom vs. Aperture post on February 19th.

Do tethered shooting
Saturday, December 9th, 2006I saw a group do this once at our local Macy’s where a DSLR on a tripod was tethered to an iBook. I kept on wondering how they did it! I’m posting this tutorial now and will explore over the holidays. If you’re going to try it, let me know how it goes!
There are many situations in which having a camera tethered directly to your Mac could be advantageous. Captured images are sent directly to the computer, and in many cases you can even control your camera’s settings and trigger the shutter directly from your desktop.O’Reilly — Tethered Shooting in Aperture

Consider a DSLR
Thursday, December 7th, 2006Macworld has released a review of the Nikon D80 digital SLR. If you’re considering getting a DSLR this Christmas, then consider adding this review to help you decide. Most cameras are recognized by OS X upon connection via USB so compatibility is really not a problem. But remember though that all cameras are only good as their users.
I’m an average DSLR user and I’ve chosen to use a Canon 350D for almost everything. If you want to see my work then head on over to my Flickr photostream.

Undelete pictures
Tuesday, May 30th, 2006
Exif Untrasher creates a clone of an external card and attempts to recover JPG files from that clone. I tried it and was successful in recovering 700MB worth of pics from a 1GB SD card that was accidentally (quick) formatted.
Exif Untrasher is donationware and I have already sent my support for this life saver.
