Take a look at what could be the new MacBook

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Engadget has posted pictures of what could be the new MacBook. It came from a Taiwanese site and shows two aluminum shells.

If this is true, then this will really shut the doors on my hope of ever seeing a 12″ MacBook Pro.

If you really need to a tablet, then check this out…

Many Mac users have wanted a tablet for years, but Apple has definitely failed to deliver such a device. But if you think that the ModBook is too expensive, or if you’re the DIY type, then why not build your own Mac tablet? TUAW

Install OS X on an MSI Wind

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Lots of features not working. Not to mention the whole thing breaks the EULA.

This is an educational experiment to see how far the Wind can be configured to run on OSX. This is not meant for commercial purposes, but rather is a testament to the power and flexibility of OSX.

What still does not work:
1. Wifi
2. Headphones jack
3. Built-in microphone
4. Sleep mode (will actually hang the computer or make the screen blank and non restoreable)
5. External VGA port - display gets really garbled on the external monitor.

CNET takes a look at what the future MacBook Air specs could be.

The Apple MacBook Air has been a ground-breaking first-generation product (in my opinion). So, what will Apple do to top it when an update comes later this year? There are some telling indicators already. This is what I expect–and hope for–as a user. Nanotech: The Circuits Blog - CNET News.com

SSD’s more efficient

Engadget posts that SSD’s:

use less power than traditional drives.

It’s a bit of welcome info, especially if you’re considering the now lower-priced SSD option for the MacBook Air.

Twitter / Adel Gabot:

That darned keyboard protector - found out the MBA sucks in air from the keyboard and vents out back. Cover it and you get core shutdowns.

The Martha Blog: My new MacBook Air

I was so excited when my new MacBook Air arrived the other day. When I opened the box and examined this laptop, I was amazed by how razor thin and how light it is
